Life without colour...

Random shots....

One of my favourite places to take photo's is at my Dad's place...the beauty of taking photo's here...especially of my VERY obedient children is that when they get that urge to run they can run...and run....and run...which makes for a very tired child...but not so tired parent....now compare this to the same urges in a shopping centre...or tiny backyard...the results a quite opposite...for e.g the shopping centre makes for a very annoyed child and a VERY tired parent...did I mention that going to my Dad's is one of my favourite things to do????...

the other beauty about going to my dad's place...is I can get distracted...and still know that the kids are running...and running...and running...and eventually they will come back....once again compare this to a shopping centre....they just simply DO NOT come back - you actually have to physically go searching for them...and what's more is the anxiety levels are MUCH higher!...

CHRISTMAS MORNING

FINALLLYYY!!!!!....after all the waiting!

My purpose behind this gift was purely selfish really....I don't particularly like cooking dinner...my passion is more the baking side of things...I'm hoping somewhere within the next two years she'll be ready to start cooking dinners for the family, she's caught on quite quickly already...she even uses her little teatowel to shield herself from being burnt as she takes things out of the oven!!

And this...was a purely selfish gift as well....this is as close to Daddy is to getting a REAL one!

Christmas Eve

You see my kids were so perfectly good this year that Santa just couldn't resist visiting us on Christmas Eve......but Santa did leave instructions that he would ONLY visit if Uncle Juzz was NOT present as he had been a BAD boy!...

I have to admit I was a little (which means VERY) disappointed that he didn't come down the chimney...I'm really not sure about the Santa trying to please everybody...I really think he should just stick to tradition...I might have a heart to heart with him about it...
I hope it didn't hurt Santa's feelings but Jake just seemed to be more interested in posing for me....
As for Layne my adorable and completely innocent...did I mention...brutally honest child...she thought it was hilarious and wasted no time in pulling Santa's hat off, and then going for his beard....because she too believes strongly in tradition - if Santa had made his entrance down the chimney I'm sure she would have felt no urge to prove that she thought he was a fake Santa!

A Gingerbread house...

So Jake begged me to make a gingerbread house this Christmas...we baked....we decorated....and we were very proud.....then a most peculiar thing happened....

....a mini tornado came through our kitchen......

....bad tornado....ok so maybe it wasn't the tornado.....I like to think it was...

(note: Jake was quite distraught and told Daddy to fix the house with nails because mummy's icing just didnt' do the job!....needless to say we laughed for hours over that one!)

Grandpa's house in the Vineyards

The Rainforest

Some more photos from Noosa Heads...and my favourites of Mike and Jake. Layne wasn't feeling well so Catherine sat in the car with her so we could get a few photos.

Our Queensland Holiday

Last month we went on a holiday to Queensland....we stayed on the Gold coast for most of the holiday and went to Whitewater World and Dreamworld...we voted that Whitewater world was the best!!! :)

But the highlight of this trip was being able to travel up to the Sunshine Coast and stay with our friend Catherine. Mike baptised Catherine and her son Dominic on his mission while in Malaysia and now she is living here in Australia!! Her and her husband Neal showed us around Noosa Heads and took us 4wd on the sand and up the sand dunes...so here are some photos - yes we climbed the highest sand dune we could find and had to pull ourselves up by a tree root at the top...Jake was a trooper and was prepared to follow daddy no matter how hard the terrain...Layne well she stopped a couple of times along the way to let herself emotionally cope with how high she was...and every time I asked her if she wanted to go back down she refused...showing daddy and jake that she could make it to the top was much more important to her!! Then we all had fun sliding down again!!!...Mike was bummed he didn't bring anything with him to go sandboarding...

I'm a big photo buff...I love photo's and I love taking them. Every once in a while I'll see a photo that I just love or that reminds me of fond memories...or just simply does something to my insides...my friend Krisy has this as her facebook picture at the moment, and it's one of those photo's!!!
