I love Public Holidays...

It was Australia day this past weekend...I love having public holidays because that means that M. has the day off and we can go do something together...and even though there was a pile of dirt and pebbles in the driveway needing to be wheelbarrowed into the backyard...we left it and set off for the mountains...ahhhhh space....fresh air....!


I loved these pictures I took on our little trip....

But sometimes I just can't decide how I like it best....lighter or darker....?

I figure the longer I sit here trying to decide how I like them best....the longer I avoid having to do the MOUNTAIN of folding that has transformed our guest room into...well lets just say there is no longer room for any guests....so for anyone that was thinking of visiting...you might just find yourself on the floor!

Don't judge a book by it's cover...

You can never really judge something by the way it looks...that 'something' might be exactly what you expected it to be...or it might not...take these two munchkins for example...


He looks SCARY!!! not sure if it's the hair or how enormous the mouth is...but either way he looks scary....and there are times he really is...I call this 'face value'...


...and yet...SHE looks so innocent...ahhh I love this picture....but really, like I said, you really shouldn't judge something by how it looks - chances are if you do - SCARY ...might just be the only word that comes to mind!

This is my favourite reading chair...it's an Ikea chair I bought on Ebay soon after we moved into our house...but....

My Christmas Present!

So for those who may be wondering what I got for Christmas this year...

No it was NOT an extra child........it's the BEDHEAD!!! I have been wanting a Bedhead for the last 2-3 years...but of course the one's I liked were VERY expensive...and we just couldn't bring ourselves to spend that much on a bedhead...so my husband...waved a magic wand and wahllaaa!....(ok so maybe that magic wand involved some time, sweat, muscle and skill on his part!!!!) and since I much prefer to be behind the camera...I got my truly talented daughter to mimic my excitement! :)
